    Just Show up

Last September, I made a scary decision: I resigned without a backup plan. No offer waiting. No safety net. Just me walking away from toxic management and a growing checklist of red flags that I could no longer ignore.

From the end of September to the second week of October, I threw myself into job hunting—LinkedIn, Indeed, JobStreet… you name it. Almost every week, I had interviews. And nearly every week, I got rejections.

Eventually, the whole cycle became exhausting. My brain felt like it was running on fumes, and I swear I already memorized the usual recruiter questions, plus my automatic answers. I felt like an actor repeating the same script over and over again, hoping one audience would finally clap.

But even when it was late at night or almost midnight, I still managed to show up. Tired, anxious, doubtful—but present.

    And then something unexpected happened.

One interview changed everything. I wasn’t even prepared that day, no rehearsed lines. No overthinking. I just answered honestly. I met their requirements and submitted everything without over-polishing. My mindset at that moment?
“If they like me, great. If not, I’ll move forward and apply again.”

That was the interview where I got hired.

This experience taught me something simple but powerful:
Just show up, even when you expect rejection, even when you feel underqualified. Even when you’re not at your best. Just. Show. Up.

Today, I’m genuinely happy in a position that fits the way I want to work—flexible, aligned, and healthy.

To anyone still searching, still applying, fighting burnout:
Keep showing up. You’ll never know which opportunity is meant for you until you knock on the door.
I hope you find the job that matches your energy, your dreams, and the life you want. 😉
